It is fair to say that Russ and Daughters is the best brunch spot in Manhattan. The place was established in 1914.
in addition to that, the café even has a bar for those in search of a boozy brunch. In fact, they have a selection of signature cocktails; champagne, wine, and beer; and my personal favorite, an assortment of infused Bloody Marys.
The ideal brunch at Russ & Daughters consists of a classic board with nova smoked salmon, chive cream cheese, an everything bagel (with tomato, onion, and capers), and a side of wasabi infused row.
Russ and Daughters open from Thursday through Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 pm. You can get there by taking the F/M train to Delancey Street/Essex Street station or the B/D train to Grand Street station and walk from there.
Clinton Street Baking Company
Clinton Street Baking Company is a family-owned restaurant. It is famously known for its blueberry pancakes which is actually a fantastic dish to begin your Sunday.
If you are looking for something sweet, then definitely get a stack of pancakes topped with a generous helping of stewed Maine blueberries. Moreover, if you want something, even more, sweeter you can get their biscuit sandwich that comes with melted cheddar cheese, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and homemade tomato jam.
Find them at 4 Clinton St, New York, NY 10002. Brunch is served all day, Monday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Furthermore, entries start at $12.00 and go up to $19.00. You can take an F/M trail to Essex Street Station/ Delancey Street and simply walk to the restaurant to enjoy the pancakes.
Sugar Freak (By Astoria Queens)
Sugar freaks feature many delicious brunch items. They have an amazing range of drinks to choose from too. In fact, their shrimp creole with cheesy grits and the biscuit gravy is a portion of fantastic comfort food.
Find them at 37-11 30th Ave, Queens, NY 11103. They open on Friday from 12:00 p.m to 3:30 p.m and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m. Entrees are $16.95 with the exception of the steak and eggs which is $27.95. You can get there by taking the N train to 30th Avenue station and walk to the restaurant from there.
PS Kitchen – Midtown
This vegan brunch spot serves amazing plant-based food. Their fresh and delicious menu serves globally influences plates prepared in the classic French style. The interior is so aesthetically pleasing: made of light tones and exposed bricks.
PS Kitchen is located 246 W 48th St, New York, NY 10036. In fact getting there is easy: just walk from Times Square for few minutes. It is open daily from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm.
Golden Dinner – Two Bridges
Located at 123 Madison St, New York, NY 10002, the Golden Dinner serves unique Asian-inspired, American classics such as pancakes, eggs, and much more.
If you are looking to brunch it up at a total greasy spoon of awesome, then try awesome entrees like the mushroom Reuben quesadilla (perfectly paired with a side of Russian Dressing, The wontonini (pork dumplings in brodo), Taiwanese noodles, and the Patbingsu dessert which is basically like a Koran shaved ice but with roasted apples and Cinnamon Toast Crunch on top.
The Golden Dinner is open on Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. You can get there by taking the B or D train to Grand Street station and walk to the restaurant from there. Breakfast entrees are priced from $9.00 to $16.00 and are served daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Nomo Kitchen (SOHO)
First of all, the NOMO Kitchen looks amazing! From the botanical tunnel that serves the entrance to the building to the wooden seats, statues, tables, and trees it created a perfect spot for impromptu photoshoots.
The food on the other hand does justice to the aesthetics. In fact, in terms of prices, it is not a hustle as all the entrees served here, besides the steak and eggs, are under $20. Therefore, even if your budget is tight (kind of like your pants are after eating here), you can still enjoy some of the finer things in life and add this to any DIY NYC food tour. Prices range from $14.00 to $26.00 for petit filets and eggs.Â
