When it comes to looking for a decently priced room in New York City, it is almost like finding a needle in a haystack. Hard to find, but can be found. With a new hotel looking to make its mark in New York City as a very small spaced hotel, it could give some hope to tourists and visitors in finding a decently cheap hotel.
Oleg Pavlov and Seth Schumer, two developers based at Quadrum Global in London, have come up with a hospitality business. The business? A micro hotel called Arlo. It won’t be your average three to four-star hotel, though. Arlo will be a 575 room hotel in a matter of 165 square feet. The partners plan on squeezing all the rooms into two buildings in hopes of maximizing profits, where the cost of living is growing, and hotel businesses are not doing that great. Just this year alone into June, the average night for a room fell around three percent, making the cost of a room average to $237.93.

Hudson Square neighborhood near Soho will be the home to the first Arlo hotel, opening up on September 6th. It will be located right near the Holland Tunnel. It comes at a perfect opening time, as fashion week begins the 8th of September and will most likely host guests.
More rooms are coming to New York City, as 7,100 rooms were added this year alone, 6,700 projected for the coming year, as well as another 7,100 rooms for 2018. New York City has been booming with luxurious modern hotels and a micro hotel is just another hotel to add to its glimmering resume of hotels.
The developers hope the rooms will be sort of a room just to sleep in, rather than hang out in. To just rest up, shower, and sleep in. The hotel will include LED TV’s in every room, amenities hidden in every corner of the room as space is very limited and beds that touch the walls. A rooftop bar, lounges, and a game room will be included in the hotel.
Rooms are going for $199 for twin bunk beds, and $339 for a queen sized bed with a terrace, on opening night.
