Long Island’s band, Big Shot, took the stage at the Paramount in Huntington, New York and they were joined by the iconic pianist, Billy Joel.
The Billy Joel tribute band from Long Island started to play music from the artist himself and called their tour, “The Ultimate Billy Joel Experience.” Â These musicians have been recording and performing Billy Joel songs for their fans entertainment. Â They also add more joy to the audience with covers of Elton John, The Beatles and so on.
On June 24, Big Shot commenced their concert at the Paramount with the famous pianist sitting in the VIP section with his wife, Alexis Roderick. Â During the performances, Mr. Joel came onto the stage and played covers of The Beatles. Â The artist jammed to “With a Little Help from my Friends” and “Honky Tonk Women.”
When the concert was coming to a close, Mr. Joel finishes the night with “You May Be Right” along with a mash up of Led Zeppelin’s song, “Rock and Roll” by the band leader, Mike DelGuidice.
Mike DelGuidice is one of the most celebrated performers on Long Island and became the tribute band member in Fall 2013. Â He currently juggles with his sold out shows at Madison Square Garden, touring with his band and Mr. Joel.
The band had their tour and tribute to the popular musician all around the NorthEast, including the Amber Arts and Music Festival in Ambler, Pennsylvania. Â Then came the surprise that nobody in the crowd saw coming on the Paramount.
These performers have worked and collaborated with not only Billy Joel, but also with Diana Ross, Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder, and more. Â Their talents have also hit the Broadway stage in shows like “Grease” and “The Lion King.”
To see this tribute band play more music from the celebrated musician, their next concert will be at the State Fair Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey on June 28.
