The past six months saw many new stores open in New York City and it looks like New York will be seeing a lot more new stores arriving in the second half of the calendar. You can check out the new brands and shopping centers waiting to call New York City their home and will most likely open within the next six months down below.
Westfield World Trade Center

New Yorkers have been waiting for the shopping mall at the World Trade Center to open for a long time and it looks like their waiting will come to an end soon. Shoppers are now able to walk through the Oculus, the exterior of the World Trade Center transportation hub, and see the outlines of the many new stores waiting to open. Apple, John Varvatos, Dior Cosmetics and & Other Stories are a few of the many stores that will be available to the public on August 16th at 185 Greenwich St, Financial District.

Canada Goose

The ubiquitous brand Canada Goose is cashing in on its popularity by opening its first retail store in Soho which is known for its expensive stores. As of right now, it is being reported that the store will open in November and shoppers are eagerly waiting for its retail debut which will be at 101 Wooster Street, Soho.

Thakoon

With new ownership comes new direction. Thakoon is undergoing lots of changes and one of those changes is opening its first retail outpost. A newly-updated site and a retail outpost are signs that Thakoon is planning to thrive for the long term which houses exclusive Thakoon clothing. The store is planning to open in September after the New York Fashion Weekend runway so shoppers can buy what they saw on the runway right away. Location has yet to be announced.

Stone Island

Another high-end outerwear to hit the streets of Soho will be the Italian-based Stone Island. It is known for its pop-up shops but will be trading those in for a full-fledged flagship for its top of the line tech-heavy men’s jackets and apparel. It is slated to open in the third quarter of this year at 41 Greene St, Soho.

Yogasmoga

A brand that gained lots of popularity because of its superior fit and longevity, Yogasmoga will be coming to Manhattan for the first time and will be calling  the Italian menswear brand Boglioli its neighbor soon. The store will open in the next few months at 10 Bond St, NoSo.

Saks Fifth Avenue

Brookfield Place will see the opening of Saks Fifth Avenue, its stable tenant. Other stores at the location opened on March 2015 and soon so will Saks Fifth Avenue. It is going to open its doors at the beginning of New York Fashion Week on Vesey St, Financial District.

Rick Owens

The always innovative Rick Owens label has had its logo up by Opening Ceremony since last fall so expect it to open before the end of the year at 32 Howard St, Soho.

Coach

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, the American brand is opening with a humongous new store at Fifth Ave. With this opening, Coach is trying to be more than just another outlet brand and having a huge store at Fifth Ave is a great way to do just that. No debut has been set but it’s likely it will open before the end of the year at 685 Fifth Avenue, Midtown.

Dolce & Gabbana

A year and a half after the announcement of the huge Dolce & Gabbana store was announced, it is still not open. It has made progress and it even applied for a liquor license which hints that is should open soon. There is no time frame for its opening but is likely to open in the next six months at 155 Mercer St, Soho.

Nike

As if Nike had to show everyone how it is at the center of athleisure, it has spread its wings once again and looks to open at Broadway. Nike signed a lease for 529 Broadway and looks to be replacing Baked By Melissa and Kiosk soon. No guarantee that it will open this year but expect Nike to make a profit on its expensive investment sooner than later in Soho

Adidas

Not to be outdone by Nike, Adidas is also looking to open a new store soon. The location for the latest store is 115 Spring Street, Soho and it looks just about ready to open. No information on whether the store will house special collections or it will replace the Originals store on Wooster Street. Adidas also plans to open a store on Fifth Avenue but no date has been announced as of yet.

Dolce Vita

The return of Dolce Vita, the affordable footwear label owned by Steve Madden, is upon us. It closed its store on Elizabeth Street two years ago but fans of the brand should see a new store opening soon. Dolce Vita is opening a new store and it looks like they have bought a whole building (3,000 square feet) and is expected to open before this year comes to an end at 53 Mercer St, Soho.
