1. Beacon’s Closest
Three different locations in West Village, Williamsburg, and Park Slope, this thrift shop even color coordinates it’s clothes for easy shop. Big variety in clothing as well as shoes and accessories. Plus, unlike the majority of thrift shops Beacon even has a online store where you can shop even when not in NYC.

2. Guvnor’s Vintage Thrift
As soon as you walk into this store, you instantly get a 50′ rock and roll/pin-up vibe. There is a huge selection of leather, denim, and suede that can be easily paired with the many cute summer dresses they have in stock. Guvnor’s even throws parties occasionally, which you can tell by all the motorcycles park out front.

3. AuH20 Shop
Very small shop but it’s as if every single item was handpicked by the owner, Kate Goldwater. They have several original, custom-made items throughout the store. The $5 rack put outside of the door brings a lot of traffic to the shop since they are so gently used and so cheap!

4. Metropolis Vintage Clothing
This shop is perfect for college students on that college budget. They have a huge selection of flannel, button down shirts, denim jackets, graphic tees, Tommy Hilfiger, and vintage shoes. It is located close to NYU, and the staff keeps the inventory refreshed often. Perfect place to shop if you’re nostalgic for the 90’s!

5. Urban Jungle
One of the few thrift shops on the list that has a large men’s department, which any girl can stroll through and find an over sized sweater or flannel to rock. Almost all clothes are never more than $20 each and even has vintage clothing dating back to the 1970’s!

6. Cobblestones
This vintage shop will make you think you’re stepping into your very stylish’s grandmother’s closet. The owner, Delanee Koppersmith, specializes in 1930’s and 40’s clothing as well as archives such as books and accessories.

7. Armacord Vintage Fashion
Armacord concentrates specifically on European accessories and clothing from the 1940’s to 1980’s. There are some known brands mixed in with unknown all throughout the store. Most inventory is bought in Europe, mostly Italy, where the two owners are originally from. Tons of stylists and celebrities use this shop to find something no one else will be wearing to the party.

8. What Goes Around Comes Around
This consignment shop has been buying and selling vintage clothes for over seventeen years. They have accumulated thousands of vintage gems throughout all pat decades, but mostly focusing on the 60’s. This shop has one of the largest denim selections in all of New York.

Although not the cheapest place around, this East Village shop donates their proceeds to Type 1 Diabetes research. Most articles of clothings are in good to perfect condition, something not always guaranteed at thrift stores. Look for days they have sales: $1 or 25% off days. Reviews on Yelp! have also revealed the staff is super friendly and helpful.

10. Housing Works: Buy the Bag
This is how this store works: You get a large brown bag when you walk in, stuff it with as many things as you can, and pay $25 for everything in there. Digging through several bins is definitely worth it when you find that perfect dress you’ve been looking for for less than $2.

11. Goodwill Outlets in Long Island
Uniquely, this store sell’s its clothes like frozen yogurt, by its weight. For every pound you collect, you pat $1.69. On almost any given day, you can find great pieces from H&M, J. Crew, Nicole Miller, White House Black Market.

This store thrives on the fact that nothing in the store is priced above $30. The shop is pretty large so it can be overwhelming at times, but it’s worth it when you can find name brand t-shirts for only five bucks. If you’re looking for real vintage with the real vintage price, look no further!

This thrift shop has big name brands for usually more than 50% off. The staff make sure they are never any knock-off brands on the shelves. This shop isn’t known for bargain deals like most other thrift shops, but it’s the place to go when looking for designer names.
